I had speculated that Marc Crawford would end up at TSN and that’s where he’s headed. Crawford is a perfect replacement for the now departed Craig MacTavish. Crawford has plenty of TV experience as he has worked for CBC in two different stints between coaching jobs. His duties included being a game colour analyst and a co-host of Hockey Night in Canada’s After Hours program. His co-hosting duties weren’t exactly impressive but he’s a good analyst and should be a good fit as part of the NHL on TSN panel.
In other talent news, MSG host and reporter Christine Simpson is headed back to Canada as an NHL features reporter for Rogers Sportsnet. Simpson previously held that job until she left for the US and subsequently worked for ABC, ESPN, Versus and NHL Network. Simpson was replaced on Versus by Charissa Thompson in 2009 (Thompson was later let go) and she has since worked part time for MSG usually during New Jersey Devils games. It’s good to see her getting a full time job as Simpson is a strong reporter and is very deserving. She’s a hard worker and one of the classiest in the business.
